Adventure Anywhere. Adventure for Anyone. Adventure Forever. These three statements encompass our mission here at NEMO and they drive all our decisions — including who we partner with. We’re proud to introduce our 2022 partner organizations and support the crucial work they do in building a more inclusive outdoor community and ensuring that the great outdoors are preserved for generations to come.
Appalachian Mountain Club
Since 1876, AMC has been working to protect the mountains, forests, waters, and trails in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. AMC encourages you to experience, learn, and appreciate the outdoors, knowing that your participation supports the conservation and stewardship of the natural world around you. Be sure to check out AMC’s Ethan Pond Shelter campsite, featured in NEMO’s 2022 brand campaign!
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers
As wildlands become more and more scarce, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers works to ensure that North America's hunting and fishing environments are maintained in their natural wild setting. To accomplish this goal, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers maintains a level of education on the issues facing land preservation and shares ways you can help advocate for the wild public lands, waters, and wildlife.
NEMO is here to help get you to venture deeper into the wildlands of North America with our Field Collection, a collaboration with First Lite geared toward elite backcountry outdoorsmen and women.
Camp Yoshi creates a space for Black folks and allies to unplug, in order to reconnect with the wilderness. The Camp Yoshi collective pulls this off by custom-designing guided outdoor adventures that speak to our shared experience. They carefully architect routing, gourmet menus, supplies, and visual documentation for each expedition. Whether you’re a first-time camper, intimidated by the idea of camping, or lack gear, Camp Yoshi is a resource that can help you start your journey into enjoying the outdoors. This year, NEMO’s sleep systems will be on all Camp Yoshi trips with select adventures exclusively outfitted with NEMO gear!
The Conservation Alliance
Founded in 1989, The Conservation Alliance works to protect North America’s wild environments by collectively working with businesses and outdoor communities to secure funding and advocation. The Conservation Alliance uses funding for grants that are distributed to nonprofit organizations working to protect the wildlands and waters in North America. NEMO has been a proud member since 2010 and looks forward to another impactful year.
Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters
Located in Portland, Maine, Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters work alongside the National Park Service to ensure the preservation and protection of the natural beauty, ecological vitality, and distinctive cultural resources of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument and surrounding communities. NEMO was founded in New England and maintains its headquarters in Dover, NH. We take pride in our home and continue to invest in local conservation efforts to make sure our backyard continues to be a great place to recreate.
With a focus on celebrating places that celebrate you, Inclusive Journeys is on a mission to provide individual users a platform to rate businesses and spaces on their customer service experience corresponding to the users’ specific identities (race, ability, gender, etc.). A difficult yet vital question many ask has been: Where is a safe place for my community to recreate?
The success of NEMO's business goals is closely linked to sustainability and social justice actions. We want to help all people find safe adventure spaces and will continue to drive traffic to the Inclusive Guide to share this valuable resource and encourage its growth.
Starting as an online platform in 2017, Latinxhikers is now hosting hiking events on trails in the southeast region and beyond. Latinxhikers’ goal is to break down barriers to the outdoors, create representation, and establish connections with others and nature. Latinxhikers Co-Founder Luz Lituma is one of NEMO’s 2022 brand ambassadors. By using the power of our community, NEMO is able to provide a spotlight on Latinxhikers’ mission to help build a bridge to a truly inclusive outdoors.
Southeast Land Trust
In the never-ending battle to protect and sustain the significant lands of New Hampshire communities, the Southeast Land Trust works to provide clean water, outdoor recreation, fresh food, wildlife, and healthy forests. Since 1980, SELT continues to serve 52 towns and cities of Rockingham and Strafford counties and has conserved tens of thousands of acres.
NEMO holds New Hampshire’s recreation close to our hearts as this is our home base. Partnering with SELT ensures we can have a hand in preserving this great state — in fact, NEMO’s very own Chief Operating Officer, Brent Merriam, is a board member!
Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Project
Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Project works to unite and amplify voices to advance America’s legacy of conservation, habitat, and access. These goals support their mission to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish. TRCP is one of the largest and most vocal land conservation voices on Capitol Hill, supporting crucial lobbying work that NEMO also participates in. Together, we look beyond our immediate reach and encourage legislative decision makers to prioritize wild spaces, as well.
Since 2014, Thru-Hike Syndicate has been welcoming a select and diverse group to their ambassador program for long-distance thru-hikers attempting to complete some of North America’s most iconic long trails. NEMO supports a group of THS ambassadors by providing a full backpacking campsite kit in exchange for content highlighting their adventures. We utilize this content to inspire a wide variety of adventures across our social channels and expose new audiences to what may seem like an intimidating undertaking. By doing this, we hope to ensure that the activity carries on for many generations to come.
