NEMO was founded in 2002 with the commitment to bring the highest level of design and engineering to the world of outdoor adventure. We are a small, authentic, fast-growing company run by people with a genuine and deep passion for what we do. Design and development is done in-house, and we take full ownership of what we produce. At NEMO, we are constantly evolving, improving ourselves, our process, and ultimately our products. We work in a collaborative environment where teamwork and results rule the day.
Bring your mountain bike, surfboard, and rock shoes. Our office is located in a historic mill in the charming town of Dover, NH, 20 minutes from great surfing, an hour from the White Mountains, and a little more than an hour to Boston. Dogs are welcome.
At NEMO, Adventure Anywhere™ is our motto and “design like you give a damn” is our creed. The Product Team at NEMO consists of motivated designers and engineers that consistently bring innovative products to market. We are seeking a talented Product Engineer Intern to help our team complete the current development cycle and potentially join our team permanently. Product design is critical to our mission and we need someone capable and with significant potential. The term of the Internship is for 6 months with the potential to be hired on full time at the end of the internship for an exceptional individual.
The Intern will work closely with experienced designers and engineers on the Product Team developing an array of products while also focusing on a project with a large degree of ownership. We are a small and fast-paced team, so the Intern needs to be able to manage multiple projects at once and nimbly change direction when the need arises. As the Intern, you will learn project management, product design, and how to bring a product to market. The role will span across product categories, including tents, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, and furniture. You will also participate in the product development cycle: from initial brainstorming, to proof of concept models, to CAD prototypes, and creating manufacturing specifications for example. The essence of the role is to work on technical aspects of product design, development, and production to help bring innovative products to market efficiently. The best fit will be someone with technical training, hands-on experience, a serious attention to detail, and ability to produce results quickly.
This job description is not all-inclusive and is only intended to describe the general nature of the work. All job responsibilities and requirements are essential to performing the role.
