"Going on a 2 month backpacking adventure gives one the opportunity to grow with the belongings he or she might choose to bring. Unfortunately, the reality is that these belongings will not grow with you, as they do not regenerate new cells with exertion like us humans; rather they deteriorate with use. I, along with Adam Colton and Paul Kent, journeyed across the arid, hot landscape of Morocco each carrying our favored one-man shelter: the NEMO Gogo. We skateboarded 2000 km unsupported on single lane highways, battling for road space 'to and fro' for 7 weeks. After this extensive journey of sporadic camping, skating, and filming, I seem to have a tent that is still 100% functional. Not a
single devaluing sign of wear or tear other then the coating of Moroccan red sand. More importantly, I fondly remember the relief of climbing into a tent that was humble and comfy, thoughtless to set up and take down, and spacious enough to cuddle with a baby camel (joke).
I grew to love this piece of equipment during my travels and viewed it as a companion I could trust to always be stealthy and simple. When the locals would gather around the three of us setting up the Gogo's I'd say in Arabic "Daree" (my house) and they'd ooohh, aahhh, and laugh--especially amazed by us pumping them up with our mouths. They were even more impressed by the size and weight when we packed them into their little stuff sacks. I want to thank NEMO for all their support and congratulate them on being an amazing and innovative company. Check out these Gogo's in action here.
To date, Aaron Enevoldsen, Paul Kent and Adam Colton have longboarded over 4400km across Peru, Bolivia and most recently, Morocco.
