Cam Brensinger
Cam Brensinger
Founder & President
Cam is both an industrial designer and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. He studied physics, studio art and writing at Middlebury College and industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he graduated with distinction, receiving the Thomas Lamb Scholarship Award. Prior to founding NEMO, Cam worked with a team at MIT funded by the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts to design spacesuits for human exploration of Mars. When he was a student at RISD, Cam served a summer internship at Black Diamond Equipment, Ltd., where he helped design the company's first generation of headlamps. Cam has spent a lot of time in the outdoors, and some of his experiences include: co-leading a successful team on Denali, leading a group to the bottom of 1168' foot deep Neff's Canyon Cave, doing a canyoneering first descent in Zion, 5.12 sport climbing in Red Rocks, and ice climbing The Weeping Wall and The Black Dike. His favorite sports these days are rock and mixed climbing and trials biking.
Caryl Brensinger
Caryl Brensinger
Executive Assistant
Caryl has a Masters in nursing from Boston University. She practiced nursing in the Boston area, and went on to teach nursing and medicine at the college level. When her two children reached high school age, she shifted her career to become a trustee of an independent school and also to serve as a commissioner on the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Accreditation Board. Caryl and her husband Barry, an architect, are both race car drivers. Caryl is a nationally certified high-performance driving instructor and races a Porsche 993 RS Club Sport in about a dozen events around the country every year. She has always loved the outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and playing tennis.
Suzanne Turell
Suzanne Turell
Director of Product Design
Bandanna, as she has come to be known, found her way to design and NEMO on a twisting trail. Her love for the outdoors can probably be traced back to her first camping trip at the ripe old age of four months. With civil engineering and architecture degrees from Princeton University tucked in her belt, she set out to walk from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. After reaching Mt. Katahdin, the terminus of the AT, there was only one thing to do: go back to school. At Rhode Island School of Design, Suzanne earned her Masters of Industrial Design degree focusing on biomimetic design. When she's not sewing airbeam prototypes or sketching new ideas, you can probably find her on the rugby pitch or on some new outdoor adventure with the NEMO crew.
Connie Yang
Connie Yang
Director of Engineering
Connie has been a sports enthusiast her whole life and enjoys activities ranging from marathons to climbing to ultimate. While studying mechanical engineering and physics at MIT as an undergrad, she played on both the women's soccer and basketball teams. Recently, she has been inspired to learn how to surf and hopes to continue riding waves in the frigid waters of the Northeast after dabbling in Costa Rica. Connie joined the NEMO team after receiving her PhD at Loughborough University in the UK. She has interned at Nike, developing and testing cushioning technology for footwear, and had stints at design firms including Altitude Inc. in Somerville, MA, Progressive Sports Technologies in Loughborough, UK and MIT's Center for Sports Innovation.
John Faherty
John Faherty
Director of Sales
John has been an outdoorsman his whole life. He is a lifelong explorer whether it is searching a creek for trout or a stretch of beach for a wave. His passion for the outdoors was a natural fit for his biology education at Montana State and his inquisitive nature paired well with studying Industrial Design at Mass Art. He has worked in both consultancy and corporate environments as an Industrial Designer and brings great depth to the NEMO team. His passions are fly fishing for anything with fins, mountain biking, and surfing. Now-a-days you can find him hanging out with his family or surfing the breaks of Maine's balmy waters.
Tom Reynolds
Tom Reynolds
Director of Operations
Tom's enthusiasm for adventure and outdoor activities started in the pool. He's been swimming competitively since grade school and has gone on to win multiple conference titles as well as compete in the U.S. Open as a student at the University of New Hampshire. Tom currently holds two school records at UNH and after a five year hiatus from the sport has recently gotten back in the pool with the BC masters program. Combining his love of the water and being outside, Tom developed a new passion with surfing. He's traveled from Santa Cruz to the Cape in search of the best waves possible. And when the water freezes over, Tom can be found on the ski slopes anywhere from Alpine Meadows to Sunday River. Tom graduated Cum Laude from UNH with a double major in communications and political science. Before starting with NEMO, he spent 5 years working in the publishing industry as a project manager. Tom is taking over as our new Operations Manager.
Kate Ketschek
Kate Ketschek
Director of Marketing
Kate's background in marketing and love of the outdoors has led her to the NEMO family. Whether it was skiing or hiking in the Adirondacks near her home, learning to rock and ice climb in the White's during college, or skiing in the Northern Rockies of Montana, Kate has always pursued the mountains. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Plymouth State College while skiing for their Alpine Team. Most recently, Kate's paid job was marketing manager at Big Sky Resort in Montana, but she took her volunteer efforts as an EMT/Firefighter, president of the Chamber of Commerce and chair of a group investigating incorporating the community of Big Sky, just as seriously. When Kate's not at NEMO, she can be found out on her bike, skis, or trail running with her husband and two dogs.
